She is also interested in exploring underlying pathophysiological mechanisms to explain weight independent glycaemic improvements from weight loss surgery in obese patients with Type 2 Diabetes. She was also a co-author for a chapter on metabolic surgery in the DeGroot Endocrine Textbook. Presently, Dr Ding manages patients in the diabetes transition support team for Young Adults (age 15-25) with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, patients in the adult insulin pump clinic (i.e. initiating and stabilising patients newly commenced on insulin pump therapy), weight management of patients in the Obesity services including lifestyle and surgical management, and managing Cystic Fibrosis patients with complex endocrinology associated issues at Westmead Hospital.
